At the heart of Chapman Guitars, there has always been a love of dropped or altered tunings, this ultimately stems from an appreciation of progressive heavy music and a love of percussive, creative riff writing all blended together over years of playing together in our various bands and projects.
When we design a guitar at Chapman Guitars we are not just making a product to sell, we are lovingly creating something that we will eventually either play live with or create music with, and that is something that has made Chapman always feel a little bit different. Our new Standard series Baritone guitars carry this sentiment as a stripped back, workhorse machine delivering clarity and articulation through our own Chapman Sonorous Zerø, ALNICO 5 Baritone Humbuckers.
A simple and understated Satin finish, coupled with some beautiful woods like Ash, Maple, Macassar Ebony, and Bass all allow your playing to do the talking, while the stunning rolled edges, TUSQ nut, and 18:1 ratio Chapman locking tuners help you to deliver the tuning stability and feel that we all need in the studio or live. We are very proud of our Baritone range at Chapman guitars and we really hope they serve you well.

A Macassar Ebony fretboard on a flame maple neck is an irresistible combination for the guitarist considering the ML1 Modern. As well as the C-shaped neck carve and the rolled fretboard edges, there’s a glorious satin finish that makes this guitar smooth to play.
PREMIUM CONSTRUCTION
Chapman’s ML1 Modern’s thin lightweight Alder body and satin Ash veneer is an exquisite blend of form and function and is perfect for the cross-genre musician. It’s ergonomically contoured but the shape and build also provides a balanced tonal foundation.

Bristling with a pair of Chapman Sonorous Zero humbucker the tonal breadth of the Chapman ML1 Modern is something to behold. Attain punchy, saturated sounds with a high-gain amp settings, or achieve glassy clean tones via the 3-way switch and the coil-split feature on the tone pot.
